As February began, the street cats suddenly started to mewl so loudly I could barely fall asleep and the strange, motionless faces without eyes started knocking on my door, asking for a candy. Speaking about carnival and masques, it is sweet when you see little children dressed up in Batmen, Fairies, Cowboys and Cinderellas, but I've always considered "serious", real masques, kind of scary and grotesque with their black eyes, frozen faces and silent lips...

And, ofcorse, there's always a donut or two near by, to chase away the fear :)

ReplyDeleteWe've got similar taste; I too prefer the darker ones. ;)
Thank god there's a doughnut involved! The masks are a bit creepy but they have character!
