Little bit of everything and a little bit of nothing

source

A little bit sad and quite satisfied. A little bit quiet. A little bit disappointed, but, in fact, content. Everything's wrong and nothing's wrong. Trapped, but free.  Knowing everything, yet  knowing nothing. Brave und quite insecure.

The only sound I hear are my thoughts. It's ok, I guess...

My Weekend Wonderings...

When ever the weather allows it,  I go off on my weekend wonderings,  usually in rural areas around my town, with camera around my neck, in a serach for old, abandoned places, since they have a lots of stories to tell...This is my latest haul, which I wouldn't have found if there hasn't been my boyfriend, who showed me this hidden old gem. It was a beautiful Sunday trip.

I was so happy to see hundreds of snowdrops, which means that spring is near, but today is snowing again :(

About Red Roses and Valentine's Day

I 've always thought Valentine's Day is overrated and discriminating. A good marketing trick for fools. Fools in love. I still think so...
But, for some reason, this year's Valentine's Day became important to me. I expected a red rose. A special red rose.
It turned out I didn't get any.

But, instead, I got a chocolate box from my mother. I got a brown bag from my dad. I got a small glass vase from my grandma. And I got a magnet heart for a fridge from my friend.

I realised I don't need red roses to remind me that I am still loved. In many ways.

So, next year, I will be fully prepared. I will buy a big, gorgeous red rose and wait for the Valentine's Day. And when that day finally comes, I will give the rose to myself. Because this love is hardest one to learn.

My Turkish Affair

During our coffee break today, my friend and I were remembering our summer vacation in Turkey 2 years ago. With lots of laughing, we both concluded we had the time of our lives. It was then I fell in love with this beautiful colorful country and Istanbul, Paris of the Orient, as one of my friends called it.

Back home, looking at the photos I took there, I realised I miss it so much...

Life in Black&White

A. Hitchcock: "Notorious". My favourite, don't know why...

Somehow I got in the possesion of the several Hitchcock's movies that had me transported in the days of my childhood. When I was a little girl, those old b&w movies were much more present in the TV program, while now they're very seldom guests on the TV screen.

I was just overwhelmed with memories and nostalgia for the past times, when I saw women hairstyles from1940s, men in suits with oily and shiny hair, charming studio exteriors, orchestral music in the background, statements about everlasting love after just a few hours of acquaintance, beautiful oldfashioned courting, stiff Cary Grant and his overly emotional female partners in luxury interiors.

I just wish I could live for a while in one of these old movies, where everything seems so simple. Maybe it's just because all of it comes down on just two colors- black and white.

Oh, and Hitchcock is the king. Definitely.

Almost Tastes Like Spring

The spring is near! At least here, in my town. I could tell also by the spring fatigue that already cought me. Or is it just a good alibi ;)

So, this was my first tulip this year. A present from a friend. It has seen better times, before my cat decided its leaves could serve very well like a dessert. So here it is, with slightly faded charisma, but still holding on! :)

Life is a Circus

A Circus visited my town today. Unusual time for amusement parks.
The Circus also brought a sun and colors with it.
It was a beautiful gift. :)

Masques

Venice, 2010, street shop

As February began, the street cats suddenly started to mewl so loudly I could barely fall asleep and the strange, motionless faces without eyes started knocking on my door, asking for a candy. Speaking about carnival and masques, it is sweet when you see little children dressed up in Batmen, Fairies, Cowboys and Cinderellas, but I've always considered "serious", real masques, kind of scary and grotesque with their black eyes, frozen faces and silent lips...
